Anyone who has read The Big Dollop blog with any degree of regularity will only be too well aware of his affection for the hopes and aspirations for a certain football club from the south side of Glasgow.
Reading the match report of Rangers SFL 3rddivision game against Berwick Rangers I could not help but noticing that a lady was running the line for the first time ever in a senior game at Ibrox stadium.

the first female to ever officiate in front of 45,000 fans at Ibrox didn’t seem
to faze 27 years old Lorraine Clark from Thornton who when asked prior to the game if she was anxious about performing on such a major stage was quoted as saying :- "I'll Simply do my Best" ...
Given the well documented connotations Rangers have with "Simply The Best" I am quite willing to give her the benefit of the doubt in so far that her statement was nothing more than an unguarded response which should not be taken out of context.

That notwithstanding her unintentional "faux pas" was one which brought a smile to the face of The Big Dollop :- Way to go Lorraine.
